Everyone deserves a hug they can hold.
At Custom Hugz, I believe that comfort is more than just something you feel — it’s something you share. Every blanket, hat, and scarf I create is handcrafted with soft, plush loop yarn, designed to wrap you and your loved ones in warmth, love, and a little bit of everyday magic. This isn’t just about staying cozy (although that’s pretty wonderful, too!). It’s about creating thoughtful gifts that tell a story — a story of connection, kindness, and care.
The Story Behind the Hugz
Like many good things, Custom Hugz started a little unexpectedly.
In early 2020, just before the world slowed down, I discovered the magic of loop yarn.
With craft stores offering online sales and nowhere to be but home, I stocked up — and I mean stocked up — thanks to places like Joann's and Amazon.
At first, it was just a way to stay busy.
But over the past five years — and countless handmade blankets, hats, scarves, and more — it’s become something much bigger: a way to create comfort, joy, and a little extra love, one loop at a time.
I'm not a full-time fiber artist (yet!), but Custom Hugz keeps me happily busy during my off-hours and on adventures traveling in my “Weekender” van.
Every piece I make carries a little bit of that spirit: joy, resilience, and the simple beauty of handmade care.
If practice really does make perfect, well... after five years and dozens (maybe hundreds!) of projects, I'd like to think I'm getting pretty close. 😉
